it's pouring rain outside, the deluge of water crashing against the house is creating the most beautiful ambience. i love the sound of water, it calms me in a way nothing else can. i wonder if this is because i am a fire sign? when i was young, i grew up near the Atlantic Ocean. i remember sitting on the beach at night and just...

excerpt from "The Great Wagon" by Rumi:

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty
and frightened. Don't open the door to the study
and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument.

Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and touch the ground.

--

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field....

No I don't. Do you have friends there or something?
noelani:
There are more then hundreds of ways to kneel and touch the ground. I love that.

Is Chris Carter on Thursday or Wednesday? I thought it was Wed... today... confused. Don't want to go on the wrong day.

either way, I'll keep my eyes out for ya.

do you think that the rise of digital technology will create a more homogoneous society? in the way that Corporate America has mostly succeeded in creating a uniform suburban landscape, i.e., every suburb has a Walmart, McD's, etc. so that each suburb is largely undifferentiated from any other, will digital technology create a more homogeneous society both on a social level -- with the same...

a nice foggy overcast fall day. it's nice when the sun isn't out sometimes, makes me feel like staying inside with a good book and do some laundry . . . god knows there's enough of it.

so the Love Parade came and went . . . and i would have to agree with Naiad's comments. there's something to be said for putting more...

I want to bring you up to Portland for a party.
brokenhouse:
hello...

did you pick up a while back the stereo 8 remix of orbitals a perfect sunrise with lisa gerrad? fuckin' quality! if you didn't, i highly recommend you pick one up on ebay.

don't suppose you know an english girl over in sf called polly? my cousin moved over there about 4-5 years ago. she married some guy over there who's name escapes me, but she's into the underground dance and fetish scenes.

it's a long shot i know, but it does amaze me how small this world is sometimes.

if you send me some details, i'll send you my mix cd.

take care
see ya wink

finally back online . . . what a pain in the ass. i'm having lots of technology issues going on right now --- my turntables came back from Burning Man and now the tone arms are acting like gravity has shifted about 90 degrees.

the Love Parade is coming up this weekend. if you're in town i'm going to be spinning at this party on...

w00t! I want to come to that party! Maybe I'll drag S5 and Olivia along since I'm staying w/ them.

So what are the chances of me getting on the cool people list to get into that shindig?
noelani:
I might make it down tonight.

Do you know of any parties on Saturday night that are going to be playing techno, breaks, or micro?

so i was downloading some programs the other day and my computer locked up mad fortunately, i have a good friend who spent the time trying to recover everything, but eventually just had to reinstall windows. i'm glad all my data is on a separate hard drive . . . that would have sucked losing all my files.

so today i'm trying to get everything up...

speaking of downloading--can you reccomend any artists or dj's or whatever to download--I guess like the House kinda stuff you spin. Lately I've been wanting to listen to more stuff like that and I don't really know what to get.
neko:
computers are out to kill us all. fuck that shit. first its a download an next, the whole fucking world. argh.
but
how are you besides technology?

still putting together the pieces of the man i burned out in the desert. the reconstituted soul, like the phoenix of an icon, no longer bound by beliefs, is able to soar into new stratospheres of experience.

btw, i'm not a hippie, nor a new age zealot. i like miss kitten and dirty warehouses with loud bass, ultraviolent movies and books that don't resolve themselves...

I completely agree with the BM statement. Pure chaos. Perfectly said.

I'm jealous that you're going to Japan. I want to go sooooo badly.

Meditation keeps me fairly busy and out of trouble as of late. It's a good thing.

Organize sound equipment....I've been there. Wrapping cables is oh so fun wink I have a feeling you and I probably know a lot of the same people from JK.

All in all sounds like you had a great time at Burning Man. Maybe I should look into going next year....who knows. I live for chaos, it's always running some aspect of my life, I might as well submit to it's whims.

Anyways, hmmm.....I'm 21 now, and able to get into all the good clubs...any club suggestions? When are you doing another gig?

so i've survived yet another adventure to the desert. it was a sublime experience. more so than any other year except my first journey there.

i have so much to say, but it needs to simmer so that the flavor exudes from every bite. so instead i'll just post a quote from one of my favorite poets. some friends and I discussed this passage at...

you're thought about experience was good for me to read. I'm kinda not enjoying training very much right now at all. My nature is to always look at the bright side of things but the next couple of weeks is gonna be hard--it's some intense training, like a lot of stuff we'll need to know if we go to combat. We're on like 17 or 18 hour days, 6 days a week with very little real downtime, and its even more difficult knowing that this stuff is easy compared to what being in war is like. It's wierd how stuff that completely sucks while it's happening can ultimately be an extrememly valuable experience.
