first off, i'd like to thank everyone who gave me birthday wishes. it put a smile on my face

the birthday was very chill, with only minor craziness evolving at the end of the evening. compared to last year, it was a knitting party.

i had a three-hour kung fu workout tonight. i ended up getting the worst leg cramp of my life. it was in my lower right quad, just above the knee. i couldn't unbend my leg for about 15 minutes. the instructor checked it out and was so impressed with the knot that he had all the students feel it while i struggled to keep pressure on it. it wasn't like he could do anything about it.

one of my best friends moved back to the city from seattle. i went to his new place over in Bernal Heights. the parking sucks and the hills are brutal, but he has a hammock in a sun room that looks from twin peaks all the way to the bay bridge with a full view of the city. i'm going to be hanging out there more often

we ended up working on some music and forcing his roommates' cat to participate in some spontaneous vaudeville. the cat was down with it, though. just couldn't be bothered. i like cats like that.
