do you think that the rise of digital technology will create a more homogoneous society? in the way that Corporate America has mostly succeeded in creating a uniform suburban landscape, i.e., every suburb has a Walmart, McD's, etc. so that each suburb is largely undifferentiated from any other, will digital technology create a more homogeneous society both on a social level -- with the same language(s), customs, behavior -- and, on a physical level -- architecture, icons, t.v., etc.?
