a nice foggy overcast fall day. it's nice when the sun isn't out sometimes, makes me feel like staying inside with a good book and do some laundry . . . god knows there's enough of it.
so the Love Parade came and went . . . and i would have to agree with Naiad's comments. there's something to be said for putting more planning into an event . . . esp. the bathroom situation!!! maybe this is the starting point on which something more developed and meaningful can arise, or maybe it'll end up just as janky as it was this year. have to wait and see on that one.
an old friend/roommate came into town for the weekend and it was really good to see her. we haven't talked much in the past year, mainly on my behalf, because she had a drama-filled relationship with a good friend of mine, and instead of getting caught in the middle, i detached myself emotionally from situation, at the expense of keeping up the relationship. i got to talk to her a bit about it, and i feel better about telling her why i haven't kept in touch. i have a tendency to detach instead of confronting the complicated intricacies of relationships. but i got to see how much she has developed as a person in the meantime, and i have to say now it makes me happy to see she made a right decision when, at the time, i felt she hadn't.
i have to get my turntables fixed this week, i'm in the process of making a mix for thumpradio.com. i finally got my studio mostly up and running, so i'll be able to start recording mixes and sampling as well.
finally, i want to say thanks to everyone who came out last friday night and supported me at the Love Parade pre-party . . . it is greatly appreciated
