still putting together the pieces of the man i burned out in the desert. the reconstituted soul, like the phoenix of an icon, no longer bound by beliefs, is able to soar into new stratospheres of experience.

btw, i'm not a hippie, nor a new age zealot. i like miss kitten and dirty warehouses with loud bass, ultraviolent movies and books that don't resolve themselves nicely. the only order in life is chaos, and it is very beautiful to watch it unfold. that's what i like about Burning Man, it's pure fucking chaos. but if you pay enough attention, the synchronicities begin to show themselves, and patterns form like a Mandelbrot set.

i'm going to Japan in November, and coincidently, i met two people at BM who happen to live in Tokyo where i'll be staying. so i went and bought a book on how to speak Japanese so i can get at least a small handle on conversation. as i opened the book, i read that there are 12 different ways to say "you" --- should be interesting!

i bought a couple of other books as well: "Ethan Frome" by Edith Wharton, "Living With Kundalini" by Gopi Krishna, and "The Fine Arts of Relaxation, Concentration, and Meditation" by Joel and Michelle Levey. Hopefully, these will keep me busy and out of trouble . . .

also, one last note, i was driving around with a friend to organize some sound equipment today and who do i see standing on the fucking corner . . . Sicily. she said she was waiting for Kinko's to stop fucking up her orders, but i could tell by the dirty knees on her jeans that she was up to no good. anyway, she was good company while we spent the afternoon trying to untangle mountains of cords, but now the back of my car smells like astroglide
