so i've survived yet another adventure to the desert. it was a sublime experience. more so than any other year except my first journey there.

i have so much to say, but it needs to simmer so that the flavor exudes from every bite. so instead i'll just post a quote from one of my favorite poets. some friends and I discussed this passage at the Hammock Camp, it probably describes my week better than anything else:

"And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.
For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.
