this next tidbit is going to sound dumb, but i don't care.
i got a shower curtain 4 years ago from IKEA that i totally LOVE. (edit: i posted a pic of it) yes, its just a shower curtain, but it has all these little goofy animal looking doodles all over it. when i moved to my new apartment from the dorms i drove all the way back to Canada just to buy a new non-ooky one.
anyways, no one has ever commented on how cool it was. not a peep. not anyone i dated, friends, or even my mom. so i kept it in my head as the jackpot sorta question. thinking "someone who really 'gets' me will make a comment about it. that will definitely be a person who likes me for being me"
well, the other day...someone finally did.
it made me all tingly inside and on a bizzaro level, was the nicest compliment i've ever gotten.
all the typical compliments have become kind of tainted i guess.
"you're beautiful..you have the best eyes..blahblah"
not to sound cocky or arrogant, but just because at this point i've heard the same thing over and over..and it always turns into a lie. those guys just wanted me to fill the role of the girl standing next to them. i think only 1 or 2 actually wanted 'me.'
bah..not going to ruin this entry with any of that old crap. i'm just gonna say that it doesn't get any better than this.
