Ok, so the whole idea of university has gone out the window. My reasons for going weren't about learning or achieving a degree, so it's best I just get a job.

And as for a career, i've decided i'm not bothered about focussing on a 'career'. So what if i'm not gonna be driving around in a Porsche 5 years from now, or shopping in Harrods, dressing my kids in Burberry? As long as i'm happy(ish) and earning enough to survive. I don't want a high profile job with lots of responsibility. I just want a relaxed job, where you can come in half hour late from lunch and nobody bats an eyelid. Civil Service for me then, eh!

Anyway, I want to move out of le family home so I'm looking for roomies. Anyone got a spare room in the London/Kent area? I'm completely house trained, I don't soil myself, honest!

there are a lot of low profile jobs that aren't easy at all. you spend the same time working but get less money. a porsche, by the way, would suit you pretty good i think.

yeah dont be to quick to buck the system... need to play it to a degree or you cant be happy... money isn't the bee all of life, and its good to know that, but its also good to realise that money does have its place...

freedom is not free by any stretch of the imagination... and although you may not want a porsche... you may want a break... something you need money for

trust me... not many people believe just surviving is enough to keep them happy... read half of the posts on here... no matter what people want more than survival... people want a degree of comfort... no matter what comfort is to the individual... and no matter what that comfort is to someone, it does require cash... especially if you have children

a degree does jack for you getting a job, but it does do you the world of good... university should only be attended for the right reasons... but on the flip side... you should only not go for the right reasons as well

think of it this way... its far better to go to university and then later think it was a of a waste, but still be in a job and doing what you're planning at the moment... than it is to not go to university, then look back and regret it... as theres nothing you can do about it then... that time has past....

but then i never went to uni... no did i pass a single course at college... but i wouldnt trade that time for the world... my girlfriend at the time decided she's drop uni... get a job... she's worked her way up to a deputy manager in topshop... working flexi time, so comes and goes as she pleases... and regrets not doing uni everyday...

i on the other hand have what people class as a great job, pretty good money, work freelance and from home and not a single qualification... and i still moan about work... go figure

just make sure whatever is done is well thought out.... regret is by far one of the worse things in the world... people come and go... pain comes and goes... regret is there for life... as there will always be something to remind you of what you regret

anyway not a lecture... just a few pages from a rather long book i've been writing since birth... smile

but as always, each to their own... i'm sure whatever you chose will work out for the best and all will be fine... always is if you work at it, regardless of what it is...

sorry about the length of the post... i'm kinda well known for waffling on on certain subjects smile
