I have discovered that I don't hate all social situations, just ones that don't interest me (how self absorbed does that sound? 
). For example, I hate bars. I don't think you can meet anyone at a bar, too much drinking to remember anything. They make me uncomfortable because drunk people tend to invade your personal space. I don't hate clubs, because I like to dance from time to time, but I don't think you can meet people at a club. It's just too dark and loud to carry on conversation.
But I do like talking to people at parties, or at meetings. Yay for my GLBT book club! I'm excited about being a dork and meeting some new peoples.

yeah, ive had bad exp. meeting people at clubs and bars, usually cuz i dont talk to people i dont know, and by the time someone approaches me, im really drunk. my funniest experience was when a very cute girl tryed to hook up with me, and i tryed to sit on a bar stool as cool as ever, and i fell straight back. i didnt even say anything i just got my coat and left. Maybe we should start a dork crew in the groups section, i think its needed.
