So I guess I wasnt so clear before, but it should be said that I don't work for Nintendo, but rather my company publishes games for the Ninetndo game systems. Well, er, the Gameboy Advance specifically as we are not funded enough to get Cube projects going, though we may do a conversion of our Tom and Jerry PS2 title.

I really hope I'm out...

Hey, forgot to mention this yesterday... I was hanging out with V the oher day, and she's all for having a big bunch of SG folks come down to see her some night that week. Once you know your schedule and want to lock down a date, let me know - she'll make sure she's working that night...

And seriously, drop the Seuss game idea. In my opinion the whole licensing thing is mostly just a disease. Take anything and turn it into a title assuming it'll move just because it's got the name recognition. To me, the best stuff has always been about the gameplay, and the story. Besides, why give the Seuss estate part of the profits when you've already come up with everything you need for a quality title? Work hard, come up with something great, then keep all the money. wink

well if it's edutainment, then go check into carmen sandiego... one of the best edu franchises of the 80's and early 90's, it hasn't seen the light of day since the technology got good enough to really make it fun. Musta been the overkill of the PBS show lol...

my take, and it's purely as a marketing genius lol, is to find the most well regarded schools in your target demographic (do you want a foofy private school, or someplace with a lot of underprivileged kids). Go to that school, talk to some of the teachers about what they're trying to do. They can tell you exactly what your software needs to do. You can think of a way to make that entertaining. License it or be original. Succeed here, get their endorsement/credibility, and you're in. The key to *big* success in that space is to get it licensed to the schools at a significant discount. Parents will then follow suit and buy the retail version. In fact, you probably could escape the slotting fees most big chains charge if parents are asking for the title by name. Worked for Carmen, worked for Oregon Trail series, and dozens of other smaller successes.

If it must be seussical, consider thing 1 and thing 2

Work's been really satisfying the last few which is a BIG FUCKING CHANGE. Very important! Because us guys define ourselves somewhat by what we do. Seattle is nice, seeing my brand new neice is fucking fine, and getting the bonding time with the old man is great too, but on some levels still, things still lack. Missing that intimate friendly connection. A good friend or...

I only discovered that show this year, the ppl I stayed with when I first moved out here are huge fans and got me hooked. I haven't had the time or cash to grab the old seasons, but having that cool walking encyclopedia of a fan handy has made it easy for me to figure out some of the back story as I go along.

The reloaded plan will happen, I just can't get any details mapped out until the studio and the exhibitors ink their deals. Crazy that they haven't gotten that one figured out yet.

Not really workin' a booth, per se. We're doing SCEA's E3 website, part of which includes live video and daily updates of stills and reviews...kind of a major undertaking. So, yeah...I'll be there a bunch, but there's no one place to find me (unless someone's giving away booze again in the old GodGames space).

Howsabout yourself? Booth?

So yeah, like I'm all west coastin' it now. Seattley-located. I woulda tried to say hey what up and howdy do to the fine SG Seattle group, but I have a feeling I'm going to be locked away working on this Dr. Suess game that has to be done in five weeks. Grargh. It will be good to actually do work for a change, as...

Following up on my board post about your upcoming trip... whatever you do, please check with Voltaire before trying to organize a group trip to her club. It could become a fairly large group in no time, and that isn't always a good thing. If it's a group of people getting together to go to a strip club that's one thing, but if it's a group of people getting together at a place that happens to be a strip club, well then we'd probably be packing a very small place (maybe a little smaller than McSorley's) and not really helping any of the girls make their living and all that. I could be wrong and V could be all over it, though.

I'm up for getting together at some point in the week (Hop Louie is a great watering hole in chinatown). And I'm up for going to Jumbo's, as long as it's just a handful of folks...

One thing that might be cool, whether you are for or against this war, is that maybe sometime in the next dozen years or so it will be possible to take a trip to see Iraq and Baghdad - probably a very cool place to check out given that...

I've been thinking of that, too... The Tigris/Euphrates river valley has always fascinated me. And old Babylon, too.

Is that a real shiner?

If you want, I can prolly put together a tape of Adult Swim over then next couple weeks, if you miss it that much. Digital Cable + TiVo = TOO MUCH TV!

Oh, and I ot Midnight Club 2 for PS2 a couple days ago... I'll be getting the BBA this weekend. Want to race?

I am livid right now. For reasons I shall not go into, I now curse the gods.

Having been a smoker for the last 18 years, this was A-number one way to deal with stress. You take a drag and let your anger mingle with the smoke inside your lungs and you blow and let the air take it. Now with the "no smoking" laws...
