Haunted Houses ... tonight.

I went to El Torreon last night (for those not from KC, it's our local all-ages venue). What a kick-ass night. My friend Ryan's band Silence Broken was performing their last show together and my friend Sam's band Waste of Hate was having their first show. Well we scrapped and re-wrote our second song tonight. The original version was just starting to sound way too cheesy. It sounds SO much better now. About 2 and a half minutes of just pure power and energy. Fucking cool.

That makes 2 fully finished songs and 4 loose frameworks to be completed. Tack on a cover or 2 and we've got a set. Exciting....

bleh. Another Saturday night.

I think I'm going to take my son to see March of the Penguins tonight. After that ... who knows. Most likely another night surfing Suicide Girls or maybe watching another episode of Freaks and Geeks.

Maybe I should write a song. I do have practice tomorrow.

Well ... no song ... but I did take my son to see March of the Penguins. I thought it was really good. I'm not 100 percent sure I'd take my son to see it again or not though. They make it a point to show that not all of the penguins survive their journey, including the baby penguins. Not horrible, just kind of sad in places. My son (he's 4) knew he was looking at dead penguins and I could tell if kind of freaked him out a little.

It was a good movie though.

Update on the bike ... yep, my ass officially hates me. My legs aren't too appreciative either but they're getting along. My ass though ... damn it hurts. I'm NOT any of those goofy-looking padded shorts though.

I'm gonna go sit in a bucket of ice now.

Heh, yeah my ass is handling the biking a bit better now. I haven't gotten to go out too much this past week though because it's been raining like mad. I went out again tonight and things went well.

I love bikes! I went for a bike ride with a friend the other day! I hadn't been bike riding in probably 8 years and all of a sudden we go for a 2 mile UP and DOWN hill bike ride. Needless to say, it kicked out asses!!! Have fun and start off slow, you will thank me for that piece of advice!
