[ Now playing on the Severe Trauma Sounds... Travelling At The Speed Of Thought (Hip House Club Mix) by Ultramagnetic MCs from Critical Beatdown ]
Another day of work brutality, and again I write this in my slavechamber (actually, I have my own nice & sizeable office) as I await the updating of thousands of messages in my inbox once again. (I'm not popular. Almost all of those messages are server alerts/errors.)
Slavechamber. That reminds me of this musical entity I first heard of back in college called Sleepchamber. Anyone remember that name? Really, I think it was mostly this one guy, John Zewizz, and a somewhat revolving band of musicians and performance artists. Most of the time, the live shows featured naked chicks and sometimes snakes. This might make you think that they caught on really well, but I don't think they did. In fact, I'm almost positive the whole thing was highly obscure to anyone outside the BDSM & evil music subsociety. Zewizz completely strikes me as a talented, aurally-inclined dominant, and I guess I both respect and admire him because of that.
That whole "area" of art can be somewhat accurately described as Aleister Crowley vs. Genesis P-Orridge (Psychic TV) vs. Charles Manson vs. Adolf Hitler vs. Jim Jones vs. trepanation. It's very character-driven, and very underground. You'll find precious few traces of it in ultra-conservative San Diego. Nobody knows what the fuck I'm talking about around here.
What else?
