[ Now playing on the Severe Trauma Sounds... I See You by Today Is The Day from Temple Of The Morning Star ]
* Hey looky, I did like I said and revised my first post, too. *
Still in Denver (I'll be here until Sunday night) and we got an earlier start today. We went to this great outdoor plaza where I'd been back in 2003 with my mom, her guy (same one as today), and my girlfriend at the time. I'm still a little sad about splitting with that girl, but it's been over for a while and there are too many reasons to list right now as to why we went our ways. To this day, however, she's the closest I've ever come to finding my soulmate, and very possibly the only time I've ever been in love. Didn't really know it at the time, however.
Anyway, we went to this great bookstore, which was almost as big as Powell's in Portland, but I had my mind set on Clive Barker's Books Of Blood, but they didn't have them, so I decided to cold get nuthin'.
After that, we had a little something to eat, and then went to see the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still, which I thought was amazing. I mean, I was expecting crap because I pay too much attention to film critics, but I thought this movie indeed rocked.
So, post-film we went over to the nearby Virgin Megastore where I eagerly searched for some traditional music played during Chinese new year festivals over in China. (This being for an upcoming project which I'm getting ready to unleash.) All I could find was this $21 3-disc comp, however, and though I've not listened to it yet, it does have one of the multi-manned dragons on the front...
I also got a BBC documentary on kitties, because I love them so very much. I'm really loving my mom and her guy's cat here in Denver, but I also can't wait to see my own two babies back in San Diego.
We got home and had the best dinner ever, again, thanks to my wonderful mum. And we watched the original The Day The Earth Stood Still on DVD. Both versions, I've decided, are great, but I really didn't expect to like the remake as much as I did.
I have to say that I don't intend my entries to keep reflecting things I did that day necessarily, because I like to go off on tangents and philosophize, so hopefully that'll make the reading a little less dry in the future.
