Going home tomorrow for a small family emergency. I hate flying, but this trip is worth it. It's not a five alarm issue, but I really need to be with the family right now. I need a break from the constant stress, too. I missed both Gogol Bordello and the Dresden Dolls because of stupid school crap. And The Cramps and Psychic TV (although they were playing the same night as Gogol Bordello, so I would've missed one of them.)
I really want to be able to go see a show. Last year I missed KMFDM, twice, Firewater and this summer I missed Diamanda Galas.
This is due largely to my dislike of going to shows alone. I need to get over that right the fuck now. I won't even get to see Laibach.
Financially, its probably good I didn't go. The school gig causes one to be broke. When I went to college, I don't recall being broke all of the time. Now that I'm earning an advanced degree, I have way less money. Yeah. I guess that's how it goes.
I wanted to work on photography projects tonight, but I already packed my camera.
Once I get back, I need to bury my head even further in the books. I know this, but I really want a wild night. I haven't had a really wild night out in a long time.
