serendipitous

Since what I wrote yesterday was not at all cheery (election years really do that to me), here's some possibly good news.... if you live near a 7-11 and love Slurpees, that is....

This Sunday (July 11th) marks the 77th anniversary of 7-11 and they're giving away Slurpees for free. I love Slurpees. It's damn hot here. I have a feeling I will hit 7-11 this weekend (if I remember, that is). Maybe I'll get one on my way to work today..... hmmmmm.....

My niece came home from the hospital yesterday. My dad and step mom arrived in town last night.... have yet to see or talk to them.... tonight I'm sure. They're here til I think Sunday.... they haven't been here in years but I'd rather go see them in Asheville anyway so I'm not complaining.

Went to Trivia Night last night at my favorite local bar and we got our ass handed to us. We had no one strong in science or history.... bleh.... we all had the movies, music stuff covered. I usually have all the lit covered and I hang my head in shame as I admit that there were 2 biblical questions and I was the only one who knew the answers. At least that money that went to private school education was well spent!
