i proved to myself yet again that i am no chef. i made a steak and vegetables and somehow i screwed it up. the steak was burnt on teh outside and raw on the inside. surprising the vegetables turned out ok but its hard to mess up boiling water. almost as hard as messing up cereal. anyway i had part of the steak stuck to the pan and i didn't want it to leave those burn marks on it so i decided to clean it immediately. istead of letting the pan cool off though i figured that if i just poured soap on it then it would kinda bake in and release more grease fighting action or some shit. that however was not the case as it began to burn to the pan and i smoked out my place. i ended up eating a cold meal once i averted this mini crisis i was having. luckily for me i had to foresight to see that odds were i was going to screw up dinner so earlier i had walked across the street and picked up some marble slab ice cream. it doesn't matter how bad the meal is, you'll eat it if you've got ice cream waiting.
I've been thinking alot lately on the prospect of moving back to vancouver island. i love living in edmonton but i really miss the ocean. plus i would be able to snowboard, mountain bike, rock climb, and surf. not to mention the winters there are much nicer than here.
the job i've been looking at pays more and i would gain more technical experience through it. i worry that i might miss my job right now and this place too much. man i hate having these big life altering decisions.
