I take my showers at night, shortly before going to bed. As opposed to taking a shower to help me wake up in the morning, I take mine before bed to help me relax, like I did ten minutes ago. Like sleep, it is a renewal of spirit.
In addition to the rejuvenating power of hot running water, I shave. My facial hair I shave every night, but I also shave my armpits and scrotum. After an especially rough day, or the night before an important day (interviews, dates, etc.), I shave face, pits, and balls while taking a shower. This makes me feel completely clean and refreshed, from head to toe. Tonight, I feel completely relaxed and fresh.
Why do I shave my pits and sack? Well, I shaved my pits because I have watched my ex-girlfriend do it many times and it appeared to be very little effort. I wasnt a big deal at all, just a quick few flicks of the blade every now and then in the shower, and it kept my pits cleaner and cooler in hot weather. I also feel it is more aesthetically pleasing without the mangy hair.
My balls, I first shaved on a whim. Two days later, it felt like I had a wad of steel wool between my legs as I walked to classes, all day long. It was torture for a week and a half while it grew back. My legs were red and sometimes formed tiny blisters. I said I would never do it again.
I did it again a year later because I thought it might be a pleasant surprise for my ex-girlfriend (who I guess I had been seeing for three years at that point). I figured that if I kept it constantly groomed, it wouldnt irritate so much. I was mostly right, but honestly, I think I just built up a resistance to the stubble because I would frequently let it grow a tad too long, sometimes for over a week. Still do sometimes. No red legs or steel wool.
Was it worth it? Did my significant other like it? Not really. I think she preferred it hairy, but I did it anyhow. I was partly afraid to let it grow out again and torture me, but I already knew that it wouldnt be too bad because I did often wait too long between shaves. I realized that I was mostly doing it for myself.
I do it because it makes me feel sexy, I guess. I doubt that I am going to get the chance to reveal my little secret to any ladies anytime in the immediate future, but I shaved it tonight because I will feel ever so slightly more confident and sexy tomorrow. Not that I need much more confidence with my inflated ego.

This, coupled with the fact that the man has a highschool education, no real skills to speak of and an abrasive personality, made it inevitable that they would not place him.
He, of course, fully expected a position in higher management.
