Still haven't heard back from Blockbuster, Library, etc. Been too lazy to actually turn in my applications to the various pizza place. Exstatic about quinne's new set. I don't think I'll ever get enough of her.

Lately, I've been watching a lot of old movies because I'm totally unimpressed by Hollywood's lack of performance, but still want movies. Let's face it, Die Hard 4, Mission Impossible 3, Rocky 6, Vendetta, Superman, Spiderman 3, Batman Begins (which I actually Liked), etc. Comic book movies and sequels. Dammit people! Hollywood's strategy for increasing its failing profits is to make more PG and PG-13 movies (avoiding "R") so that more people can come. That means I'm even less likely to be going to any new movies.

My theory is a lack of confidence in the economy. No movie exec wants to risk his fortune on making an expensive epic movie like Titanic or Gladiator that might flop when people think it sucks (like Troy or Alexander, as my mother has just pointed out). So, we get mediocre movies like Elektra, which has a fan-base before the movie even comes out and will be watched by Elektra fans even if the movie gets terrible reviews. They might not make fortunes, but they probably won't lose money either.

Of course, the economy is doing rather well, all things considered, which throws a tiny wrench in that theory. That and they did TRY and make Troy/Alexander. Maybe Hollywood has simply lost all creativity or, more likely, is completely out of touch with its customers. Regardless, I won't be going to any movies for awhile. Let me know if I'm wrong and they actually do make something good.
