I would like to share with you guys my New Years. This is my second year celebrating New Years this way. I celebrate with my best friend who is japanese so we do the usual japanese tradition for New Years.
It's so much fun! The last two days of the year we make mochi and sushi. And some of the items of food has to be an odd number of ingredients.
No even numbers! Haha :)
Here are some of the mochi we made. This is one of the ingredients that goes in the soup. (I forgot the name of the soup.) rolling these to have a smooth surface isn't too hard but it's very very hot so you have to be quick. Can't work with it if it's cooled.
Had to have everything set and ready for quick rolling.
That concentration!
New Year's Eve was the day we made sushi. I'm a sushi making master! My best friends aunt said I made such great rolls. Maybe I was a beautiful japanese girl in a past life. Haha.
We cut up carrots mushrooms and pickled radish into tiny bits and mixed into the left over rice. We put all of that into these little things that looked like little footballs.
Strangely I liked it. I hate mushrooms. I think they're so gross. Maybe the pickled radish covered the taste of the mushroom. It wasn't too bad.

Yum. New Year's Day we woke up early to get ready and visit all the families houses and eat a yummy meal. We started at 9am and finally went home at around almost 3pm. So full and sleepy.
The soup was definitely my favorite part. Everything in it was so good.
The set up was beautiful.
I met some cute puppies! This is bug. She's a mean dog. Haha. Always growling.
And this is putter. He's so cute and sweet. An adorable little face.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and read about my adventure on New Years. Comment below what you guys did for New Year's Eve/ day. I would love to hear about it. :)
Much love! ❤️
