The right-side piercing is on the upswing with fewer incidences of oozing or crusting over the past week.

Meanwhile, on the left side, the troubles continue. Despite careful cleaning, a small camp of irritation has established itself beside each hole. The nipple has been deemed off-limits pending improvements to its status.

Less cranky today but still a bit sad. Somewhere on Wednesday afternoon as I was getting myself from Toronto to DC, I lost my fountain pen. It was a graduation gift from one of my closest friends and I'm really sad that it's gone. Oh, and I've lost my bank card too.

Got a chance to see a friend of a friend tonight. She's subletting an awesome house in Capitol Hill. The couple who lives there has been in the place for 30 years and have made it into an elegant but welcoming space. The big wall of well-used cookbooks made me weep. I now want to own the Time Life "Terrines, Pates and Galantines" book.

Staying in a reeeeealy red room in DC. Totally silly place. Lots of mirrors. Totally cheeky.

Heading to DC later in the week for work, but I will have one night off. I really don't know the city by night and would love suggestions of places to go. Somewhere where people who go on their own are neither preyed upon nor ignored. And that has good music. And cheap drinks. Hmmm ... Sounds like Club Impossible.

The desk looks great in the corner of my room and I think it has magic powers. I had dirty, dirty, tasty dreams.

Oh, and I bought an old-fashioned school desk.

Just back from a totally relaxing weekend. Kingston turns out to be a fantastic dog city. There are plenty of places where the dogs can run safely off leash and they're pretty places to boot. It was great to wind down after several crazy weeks in a row at work.
