So, I was bad, and missed the last themed blog >.< Bad Selahh! But I've got this week covered!
I found out about SG my Sophomore year in high school from this super punk girl in my photo class. She was a babe and I had a little bit of a crush on her, but she was a senior, so, ya know, never gonna happen. Sounded intriguing, obviously, so a few months later I convinced my dad to buy me a membership (I believe my excuse was, I need naked ladies for drawing reference! Which, by the way, I still do on a pretty regular basis). And I fell in love. With the site, yes, but mainly with @janedoe. Wowweee, what an inspiration that woman was. Side note, I was totally bummed when she left. :(
I basically dove in head first senior year. I loved the community, and the naked ladies, of course, but I also loved looking at the lives of these amazing, strong women, who did what they wanted because they wanted to, and didn't apologize to anyone for being who they were. And I wanted to be part of that so bad. And now, several years later, I am. I don't know if I always live up to the complete badassery that SG represents, but it gives me strength being part of this amazing community, and I wouldn't give it up now for anything.
These girls rock, the members rock, the staff rocks; it all rocks. This site is one of my favorite places. <3
