BLOG HOMEWORK: what is your biggest accomplishment in Life?

So I’m not sure this in particular is my biggest accomplishment in life but I wanted to talk about the trip that I am on right now, as it is definitely something which has changed my life.

A few things happened to me this year that made me realise I need a time out from ‘real life’ and I needed to go away and have some ‘me’ time and try and find myself a bit.

I travel ALOT, most of my twenties has consisted of living out of a backpack and moving from place to place. I have lived in 6 different countries in the last 10 years. But I really felt that it was time I did an extended backpacking trip and really took some time out to sort my head out & really figure out what I want from this next chapter of my life.

So, I’ve been away for over 2 months, living on the road backpacking from Cuba to Costa Rica, and I’m finally (& sadly) at the last 4 days of my trip & I find myself really reflecting on the last couple of months.

It’s been a journey for sure, and definitely had it’s ups and downs, I’ve laughed...a lot and I’ve cried... a fair few times but most of all I’ve learnt so much about myself and I’ve learnt that I’m so content at where I am in my life right now.

Turning 30 this year was scary. At 30 people seem to think that you are meant to have your ‘shit together’ to some sort of extend & the truth is. Until now, I didn’t really. Even though so many people envy my life.

Throughout the whole of my twenties I have just worked in bars and waitressed to make as much $$ as possible to pay for a lift pass and go snowboarding. (Which is obviously awesome), but what people don’t realise is that it can get tiring, not having a permanent home, permanent friends or even struggling to hold down a stable relationship as people come and go far too often.

Taking this trip really helped me clear my head and focus on everything that I need to make me happy.

I have met some incredible people who have really impacted my life even though the encounters were quite brief and I have accomplished some super rad things and seen a lot of cool shit.

I hiked & camped on a volcano in Guatemala to watch another volcano erupt all night; I went swimming with manatees and sharks; I danced at Cuban Jazz bar; I swam in the clearest water I have ever seen in Mexico; I went extreme tubing down rapids; I went caving by candlelight; Danced all night in a treehouse & watched the sun come up; I learnt to surf in Nicaragua; I met a boy that I could have seen myself getting to know better; I made best friends with a girl who I really clicked with; I drank many beers on the beach watching more sunsets than I can count; I’ve watched multiple sunrises over the mountains; and I’ve eaten my weight in Mexican food.

I’m writing this from the beach in Nicaragua after just going for a surf (in which I thought I nearly drowned haha) but that’s all part of it (apparently) haha. Anyways, I wouldn’t have changed anything for the world and life really is a beautiful thing.

I hope to inspire others to travel, take risks, and make incredible friends who you may never see again...and truly embrace life and tackle it head on! For life is journey...

Here are some snaps from the last 2 or so months...

And as my trip comes to a close, I have a new set going live in member review in less than 3 days & I would love for you all to check it out when it drops! I’m hoping this is the one that finally turns me pink! It would be the absolute cherry on top of an awesome 2 or so months for me to finally go PINK! ♥️

much love as always,

Pixie ♥️
