Ok, so, today I went up the field to feed my horse, and give him his wormer. That was all fine, was up there for a while, went to turn him out and he started coughing and making funny noises. So I check his throat and low and behold there's a huge lump about half way down. He's had this before (about the same time last year actually) where he's got some food (it was hay the first time) stuck. So I got him some water but he wouldn't drink. Ring the vet, she gets there half hour later, gives him a sedative and some injection that'll help relax the muscles, and some anitbiotics. Then, here's the fun bit, shoves a tube up his nose to go down into his stomach, but he wouldn't swallow it so it took a while of me trying to hold his head still and him headbutting me. Needless to say, after 15 minutes of trying to get him to take it, there was a lot of blood everywhere. took the tube out and i was nearly sick, blood all over my hands, the vets hands, dripping onto the floor and my poor baby sneezing it all over the place.

But, he's ok now - the blockage is gone and I've got some painkillers to give over the next week, I sat with him for 2 hours to make sure he didn't eat anything like the vet said, I'll go back later this evening to check on him. I hate it when he's ill
