Huzzah! I officially have a job again. I am an Adoption Counselor for the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) - AZ's oldest and largest no-kill animal shelter! I am very excited about working for this organization. They are also officially joining forces with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to form the AzSPCA.
Interesting fact I learned today:
Amanda Blake who played Miss Kitty on the TV show Gunsmoke (1955-1975) was the founder of the AAWL in 1971. She also helped finance and found the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in 1985. She died at age 58 of AIDS.
