Something very disturbing has been going on where I live and work...
Last week a girl got into a pretty bad car accident in Sea Cliff, which made headlines...
As for today however... I was all ready to leave work at 5:30 as I had been working late on some editing. But before I was able to rush out to do some Christmas shopping my boss class the office and the order comes down to "lock all the doors". It turns out that a few hundred feet away... at a place I have passed everyday of my life and spent sometime at a murder was committed. So the other people I work with held up for about an hour as the police searched the area and a crowd grew around the crime scene.

The man who murdered was a friend of the office, and a friend of my family, although I didn't know him I had known who he was. I am after all from a pretty small town. It was a bizarre feeling seeing this all happening. Knowing that as I worked on editing a man was killed, shot to death just a few hundred feet away.
that so close to the holidays some vicious person could walk into a local "mom and pop" jewelry store and just kill someone. It is strange to say this but, I'd never thought it would happen in my town....

and yup, i couldnt get home the day that shooting happened, the cops made me go out of my way to loop back around
