The past month I've been burnt out on djing to the point where when I'm not mixing what I want nothing seems to flow well. Despite Saturday's drama it was the first time in a month where everything seemed to flow well. I was just messing around with weird combinations of genres like dropping yacht rock over hip hop, jackson 5 over marching band cadences.. I need to dj more house parties. When the drinks are free nobody wants to leave and it's way easier to get a feel for what people want to hear and I don't think they mind when you drunkenly experiment with weird shit because they're probably all too drunk to care.
