1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Went to a sci-fi convention.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I kept my resolution (to quit smoking) for 8 months 8 months! then picked up the habit again- cloves only. heh. I will quit again on New Year's Day 2005.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not incredibly close but Tom Donahue, whom I consider a friend, passed away from Cancer. Or was that late 2003? I'm terrible with chronology, especially with sad events.
5. What countries did you visit?
None...but I did go to Las Vegas, which is a different country in many ways.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
More discipline, less depression.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 2nd. Because the dullard won.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finding the right person to love.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Smoking again, gaining weight.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Praise be- no.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I'm hoping the best thing I bought was the computer components I bought to assemble into a killer
system.
12. Any brushes with fame?
My voice sells you things on the radio.

Rent, bills, eating out.

Meeting my father for dinner on Mondays in the summer, hanging with my woman.

more sex, more time with my nephews and nieces, more exercise, more travel.

eating out, eating period, less depression.

With my family.

Yes!

My bed.

"Good Poems" edited by Garrison Keillor

Deeper delving into the music of the 1920s and '30s.

I wanted and got my health, my parents health, and a woman to love.

Probably Kill Bill. Or was that 2003? Ugh. OKay, how about I (heart) Huckabees.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Nothing special.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A little more discipline. A little more emotional maturity.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Solid colours, comfortable clothes. jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts.

My cat.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
There is no roadmap when we get older to tell us what is the right decision and what is the wrong one. Each decision will have both positive and negative reprecussions whose balance can't be predicted. Value where you are now and what you have now. It could always slope downward. But beware- if you appreciate things only out of fear of that downward slope- you'll stress yourself to insanity. It's a fucking tightrope sometimes!
