So am I missing something? Is having your collar flipped up on your polo-type shirt still considered cool? or fashionable? or anything other than ridiculous?

In the past week I've seen at least three different guys with their collars flipped up ala the "preppy" look. And I don't think they were being ironic. Luckily, it was no one I know, because I don't think I could have a conversation with them that didn't involve questions about why they are dressed like it's 1986!.

And what's up with the tilted hats and visors, another holdover from the 80s? It doesn't look cool or hip or old school, it just looks juvenile. That's another look I've seen a lot lately- the worst offense of which is the upside down visor pushed to the side. Why not just wear a sign that says "Please, do not take me seriousely as a human being."?
