My hair turned out very nice. The base (between the highlights, back of head where my hair has short layers) is this gorgeous red. The highlights, which are but centimeters apart, are black. If I style a certain way, it all blends together and looks really cool. If I style another way, I have red and black chunks, which also looks really cool.

I feel horrid though... a few of my friends, one of whom owns a salon, another works at one, told me not to tip because I was doing the woman a service. I probably shouldn't have listened to them. I left the house with two dollars...

Four hours and some sexy hair later, I left a two dollar tip. I wonder if it was more of an insult than a, "Hey, I really appreciate what you did to my hair and I wanted to give you some cash... merely because I doubt you're being paid for this." (I found that it was a requirement that they do this at some point for the salon for which she was working). I left her a note in the envelope thanking her. Hm.

Usually at restaraunts I'll leave about 30% tip if the service was good, only because many of my friends are servers and complain constantly about ridiculously small tips. I try to make up for it in mine. I've never been to an actual salon, so I'm not sure how much to tip. And if I hadn't listened to my friends, I would have brought much more cash.

I feel so cheap. I've been justifying this with: "She was sick, poked you very hard in the eye at one point, sneezed all over you, and essentially got you sick." (I'm feeling ill now). But I don't know if that makes up for my amazing hair...

I doubt she'll ever want me again. Sob.

(But another stylist gave me his card and got my number. He wants me to be a hair model for him later in January. I hope I don't run into this problem again...)
