goddamn! they're closing BOTH of the kb toys close to me! now the only one in portland will be out at clackamas and that's a huge pain in the ass to get to...
and who's fault is it that KB is in such dire financial straits? that's right, our old friend wal-mart!
see, wal-mart and target can afford to lose money on toys, because they'll make it back up on plasma screens and video games and other such big ticket items.
which means that toys r us(tru) and kb can't compete pricewise. and since they hire the same idiot teenagers as walmart and target and everybody else, they can't compete on service either.
(well, technically, they can, since service on all sides is pretty well abominable...)
so! KB is bankrupt and closing 275 stores.
