New Years Eve was a blast.
My friend Jasmin invited me to her rock climbing gym in Old Town. I hadnt climbed with her in a while so I said yeah. I got there around nine and it was closed and looked dark, jass met me at the door, and inside had already started the party. Someone handed me a beer and we went to it. Its funny how much better you rock climb when you have a few beers in you. We actually ended up playing Strip hide and go seek by the end of the night, I was down to my shorts. The whole night was great, we were up till about 4am where we all set up sleeping bags and hammocks and crashed. And the best part, I didnt have a hangover the next morning, but I did have two girls on top of me, shit, I'm not complaining.

Try regional group boards or hookup instead of public boards. I don't know which is harsher, BUDs or getting flamed on SG.
