In my last Soc Psy class we were discussing what motivates people. Theres the I'll feel better after I do it motivation and theres the I'll get a tagible reward after motivation. I think that we all do things to feel good about ourselves. Everything we do is out of selfishness. Even if you are giving some change to a homeless kid, you do it to feel good about doing it. You will know that you helped out that kid and that makes you feel good. Even in the reward senerio you still know that you got the reward because of you so again it will make you feel good.
