So, I’m not normally one to post things like this or ask for much help. But if you follow me on any of my other platforms, you definitely know that my pups are my babies. Well, unfortunately I got some scary news recently about one of my recent recent rescues and she is heartworm positive. As a little bit of backstory, this was my mother in laws dog for six years, but she didn’t take care of her, and left her chained up in a back yard for most of her life. About three months ago, she moved and left Trixie chained up at the house when I was finally able to take her in. During that time she wasn’t on any heartworm prevention so I’m presuming that’s when she contracted it. We don’t know how far along it is, because we’ll need X-rays to know for sure. But heartworms can be potentially fatal if not treated so I’m trying to get this going as soon as possible. I’m lucky enough to work at an animal hospital that gives great discounts for team members, but I still have to come up with over $800 out of pocket (normally 1500-2000).
So with that being said, I have a go fund me set up for her, and any little bit would be greatly appreciated. If every follower I have sent just a dollar her treatment would be covered. If you can’t donate, I understand, and a share would be just as appreciated. 💜
