I smoked my first cigarette at age 12. I was at my grandpa's house, and he was a life long camel smoker. No filters, mind you, this was the real fucking deal. I took one of his smokes and went out to the barn and lit up. After I quit coughing, I realized I was dizzy from my head swimming the nicotine. I LOVED it!!!!
When I got home, I started stealing cigarettes from my parents, but they smoked crappy "light" cigarettes, so I use to cut the filter off to get a better flavor. Before long, I developed into a real smoker, and started buying my own smokes at a convenience store tat would sell to anyone (btw, they would also sell beer to anyone, which came in handy as I got older).
I am now 31, and I still smoke There have been times over the years were I didn't smoke, but I always went back. Smoking tastes good, it smells good, and it makes me feel pretty damn good. Except for the couging...and the spitting up green shit about 6 months out of the year...and the fact that I have had bronchitis since October and continue to smoke over a pack a day.
Ok, I am sure you see where this is going. Today, I went and bought the patch. I am going to try and quit. It is 9:00 pm, and I am already freaked out abut tomorrow morning. I hid a pack up in the attic as a backup.
Anybody else out there ever given this a try? Any advice for a poor nicotine addict?
