If you hang around bars, call centres, or online forums long enough you'll see something. You'll see an outrageous degree of niceness. Through my astute observations it is usually the dudes laying it on thick. I have a pretty keen eye for the act because I've been guilty (although I'd like to think I'm more sly about it).
One of the preferred methods is the "faking interest: overkill edition" method. So you'll see a scenario that could go something like:
GIRL: I like cherries.
BOY: Me too, cherries are delicious. A fruit salad without cherries is no fruit salad, I say.
Some people will do anything to get their genitals played with, or, at the very least, garner a tiny sliver of recognition. I look to the Suicide Girls website. I watched a video today of some girl, Ophelia was her alias, and it was crap. Easily the most boring, uninspired, waste of time thing on the entire site. Sure enough, I go through two of the comments to the video and this one guy is like, "awesome video. You rule." Or something of the sort. If you're going to bullshit about cow shit, at least go balls out. I digress.
I guess i've really only focused on a small part of courtship, the initiation, the pick-up attempt. A lot of courtship ends here. Like sperm trying to reach the divine egg, only one can go the distance. Now, this is all from my non-expert analysis, but courtship can be likened to a chess match. When there are two interested parties, moves are made back and forth throughout the course of the evening until someone gets the king in check. And then they go home and have a one-night stand?
And I clearly know nothing about courtship.
