Iggy Pop is being interviewed on Fresh Air. According to my high school newspaper, Iggy Pop and Bob Seger both went to my high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I always imagine them kicking each other's asses. They always claim to be from Detroit, but a lot of people from Southeastern Michigan always claim to be from Detroit when they're really not. Like me,they were two white trash motherfuckers from the poor end of Ann Arbor that borders postindustrial Ypsilanti. They eventually figured out how to sell the macho bullshit scotch-irish tough guy image and was milked by Eminem, Iggy, Seger, me, and others. They made millions off it; I just used it to get liberals to send me to college.
