It's Saturday. I'm listening to a mixtape and try to get ahold of friends.

I went to New York Thursday night to Gypsymania. Hutz from GogolBordello spun balkan brass mixed over oldschool ska at The Bulgarian Bar. There were big bottles of eastern european lager and a lot of fucking dancing and people.

Actually, I have a bunch of mixed tapes from friends that I never listen to anymore, primarily because I no longer have a tape player. Somehow mixed CDs just aren't as nostalgic as mixed tapes. They take me back to the college and highschool days.

Laurie Anderson, by the way, is an amazing artist.
