For Father's Day, I am burning a cd of many versions of Don McClean's song "American Pie." I have a lot of early childhood memories of riding around with my dad while he sang along to the song.

It's suddenly summer. It's hot. I sit in my yard to watch the mustard greens grow. There are a million beautiful screaming children running through a fire hydrant sprinkler. I won't have to water my garden all summer. My block is beautiful.
