well, its been a few weeks. i guess the best way to put it is im believing Iowa was a mistake. how big is yet to be determined.
the job sucks. the service manager is convinced i want her job. i told her straight to her face i don't want it because i hate paperwork, im just here to get motorcycles fixed and out the door as quickly as possible. problem is all the information to build them are stored in one place, her brain. every time i try to make in-rodes to keep my mechanics busy and working, she cock blocks me with some piece of information that is not written down on a single piece of paper or computer record in the entire place. everyone is afraid of the owner for some reason and nobody takes a shit unless they are absolutely positive that they can't get blamed for something, BUT everyone in the building is a big shot.
i tell ya what, if i wanted to play "whos got the biggest dick" 5 times a day i would have stayed in the porn business.
i have another shop, an hour closer to me, that im talking to. i think im going to do one of three things:
1 - demote myself from shop foreman to mechanic and start spinning wrenches. this place doesn't need a foreman, it needs a fucking intervention followed by a rapture
2 - make a play for a job here in town. i know they are looking for a parts manager and i have it in with one of the guys there so its possible that will work out.
3 - tell iowa to fuck off and go back to dc and start making some serious money again. definitely the least favorable of the options but, an option none the less.
oh well, i can't sleep because of this shit. but im going to try.
