granted some of this info is months out of date but ya gotta start somewhere right? anywho, you know how i said our mission had changed? well, it changed again. back to the original mission
which is guarding detainees. on a semi brighter note it's not nearly as bad as imagined it. it is however extremely boring
. 12 hour days are no fun
in a tower it's air conditioned and i'm able to read books (even tho i'm not suspose to
) and the down side the day goes buy slowly. roving is ok except your constantly going in and out of 120+ degree weather relieving towers for breaks (because towers are boring). the downside of being a rover for me is that really bothers my knee with all the stairs one goes up and down and by the end of the is really quite painful for me. the upside is when your roving the day goes by the fastest. the third position (for me that is) is the IRF team (interment reactionary force) they search the detainees whenever they leave/return from medical, visitation, etc. IRF also searches the compound when we do a headcount as the detainees are locked up in the wc/soccer field. the downside of IRF is that when ever they do body searches/compound sweeps it has to be done in about 40 pounds of body armour which is no fun in 120+ weather. on IRF tho some days your really busy and the time just flys however sometimes there is nothing to do and on those days time just drags.
well, i guess that's good for now perhaps i can post more often then every 6 months or so
