I went into the city and had the loveliest lunch with Lula, Valkyrie and Tahliana on Wednesday. It was my last day of being with Lula before she goes back to the UK, which I'm a bit bummed about, but on the other hand, it was my first time meeting Tahliana, and she's lovely, so that was nice. We had some really nice food and sat up overlooking the mall and watched the cops pull up a bunch of people and bag search them. And for the record... after we had finished lunch and had to walk by the police, we didn't get pulled up. We must not look threatening or sus enough or something... such sweet looking girls we are

Before we went for lunch, I was shooting some images with Valkyrie for Sugar Vanity, which turned out really well I reckon. It's not often I wear lipstick and eyeshadow, but I thought I'd give it a go, seeing as though it fit the theme, and the products are so nice and colourful, and it worked! I think I even pulled off my fancy $3 purple lipstick

The day before that shoot, I had done my own little self shot set for the products. I set the tripod up in the back yard, threw on some makeup, braided my hair, got dressed up in pretty dresses and snapped away in between showers of rain. Pity my remote control for my camera didn't come that day, that would have been very handy! Anyway... again, here are some of my fav images.
And while we are on the subject of shoots, I have alot more coming up in the next month or so. It seems that when I started advertising myself on MM as a larger, curvier, alternative, not industry standard model, I got WAY more interest I find that interesting, and I've been offered some really exciting jobs, so that's great.
Something else I found interesting, while I was browsing MM profiles of photographers from my state, I noticed that on average, most of the males are over 38, and most of the females are under 22. That's a big difference.
The females have a very different style to the males. The females I found did work that was alot more creative and experimental. They used different processing techniques and are much more experimental with styles and colours. They chose models that are out of the ordinary, and they use very creative poses and locations and unique outfits and makeup.
The males on the other hand, seem to stick to the more common glamour shots - the whole Ralph/Maxim/Playboy style. The models are ususally in bikinis or lingerie and the location is usually a bedroom or lounge or pool. They tend to shoot a woman and spice things up with photoshop to achieve that famous 'model' look.
Both styles are in demand though it seems, and the majority of images that I looked at, whether from the male or female photographers, were quality images. I just found it so interesting the difference between the two, and the trends that are followed. Of course, there are always exceptions though!
Clearly, I spent far too much time on MM last night
Thanks so much for your sweet words too! I love the black and whites with the crazy gorgeous lashes you posted in the lounge!
