Okay, so I have decided that the NSW licensing system sucks, and that I do too.
Realised about a month ago that motorbile L's, unlike car L's, are only valid for a year (car is 3 years in NSW). Booked a P's test (about $180) and put a new front tire on the bike (about $220). Booked it for yesterday, which was the earliest booking I could get.
Everything went fine up until the slow-riding skills test - which I failed miserably. Couldn't afford to hire one of their bikes to do it on, despite being told it isn't easy on a big cruiser like mine, but I figured after riding the thing every day for a year, I'd be fine.
But unfortunately, such was not the case. Didn't even succeed in a single one of the ten practice runs...
Now, you have to wait a week before attemptng it again, and my L's expire in a week. Worse, apparently I have to go through the whole fucking pre-learner course again before I can get my L's again, can't just renew them.... and generally, you need to book your L's course about a month in advance, more if you want to do it on a weekend and not have to skip work.
So. I have essentially wasted $400 my family can't really afford, and I'm about to lose my only form of transportation, which is laso one of my main forms of recreation.
In short, I suck, and there ain't a damn thing I can do about it.
