getting up for school at 6 in the morning has it's perks. not really sure what they are yet, but that's what i hear anyway.

i really have no idea why i continue to train myself against gluttony. i tried to eat a bowl of mac and cheese last night and i was full after a few bites. my housemate says i may be "manorexic"....

chocolate - my eyes love it, my stomach doesn't ... I've lost my taste for rich foods

that chocolate mousse brownie I was talking about the other day - I had to choke it down

I think it may be psychological

I am a coffee, meat & potatoes, rice & beans guy - when it comes to food I like spiciness and simplicity

and then there is the whiskey food group

so i have this absurd obsession with the organization of things within space. those who know me well, know my tendency to constantly reorganize my furniture. however, my friends also like to note that i am alternately obsessed with organization and explosively messy. i've been struggling to figure out the reasons for this for quite some time. since i got my powerbook [which is completely...

hey, life is going quite well if i may say so. I have been doing a lot of bizarre hours at work. i've managed to get today and tom off. well deserved i may say!!!
I drove through L.G. today and had to drop something off at the old house. It was the first time i have been there since the last. I waned to cry the I stopped and thought about the typical. I wonder if i were still living here if I would be where i am now,
in life so to speak, would we have split when we did, would i have been with ryan, would i be pregnant and so on and so on. these are always the things i think about its weird. The van is still there along with the hard work we did with the slate planters. the shitty shed with the cow horns,. I dont miss that place at all, it just brought back so many memories.
In other notes of memories i have cleaned out every box and i found all the letters you wrote me, the rose petals i saved( i am sucha dork) i have yet been able to bring myself to throw them out, haha.. maybe im not a dork just pathetic, hmmm, well
it is nice knowing all is well at your end. glad to know u have a traveling buddy, gawd knows i would have never been able to do those rides with you!
talk to you soon...

she was the first person I saw as I stepped off the Lakeshore Limited into Chicago's Union Station. The first person I couldn't take my eyes off. Everyone called her cowboy, I never knew her real name. I saw her again on several occasions - I never said two words to her.

she was Martin's girl. Martin was an incidental student of philosophy at the University of Chicago - having come to Chicago to play Blues and drink himself to death. A multi-instrumentalist I would often discover Martin blowing jazz on a trumpet in the stairwell of our dormitory - he liked the acoustics. there was something ferocious about the way he played Blues Harp (harmonica). It was Little Walter playing with Muddy Waters who first cupped a Blues Harp to a microphone ........ the swooping lines and percussive honks are somewhere between an electric guitar and a saxaphone

there is this thing that Blues musicians do that is called cutting heads - it's a bloodsport. basically, if you think you are better than the guy blowing onstage you get up and play and let the crowd decide who is best. I've seen Martin start playing from the back of a Blues joint, walk up onstage and blow everyone out of the room

intentional lazyness today.

writing some music.

wow. i have systematically thrown my social life in storage. it feels alien to talk to any of my friends these days.
zak:
i believe that most disappointment is voluntary.. like.. you order dinner and expect it to be different than it turns out to be- you then choose to be disappointed about it, or choose to just enjoy what you got..

.. but mostly i just don't know what i'm talking about.

i really have to do something about this nocturnality problem.

do i get too wordy sometimes? it seems as though i never shut up. i noticed this last night. i went to a cafe where a kinda-sorta* ex girlfriend was working. she is one of the mostt intellectually challenging people i have ever met. we sat there in rapid-fire mode, going off about...

yeah it could be the "Clerks" or the restaraunt business, it's pretty funny and they touch upon many things that if you don't work or didn't work in a restaraunt then it wouldn't be as funny. I was affraid it was going to be one of those movies that the previews are the funniest parts but not this time.
