to answer the question of the bass... i got a fender precision, on which i did the following basdtardizations:
sanded down the back of the neck, so now the action is ten times smoother
stripped the finish off the body and stained it to give it that beat up wood grain look.
added an emg single coil J-bass pickup to the neck position to give it more pillowy sound and add more drop fo' the dolla.
im not going to be very active on the site for the next week or so. i have begun to lose a lot of focus, so i'm staying at my grandfather's lakeside cabin in the adirondacks fo a while. i'll be playing the role of caretaker for the place, painting , landscaping and masonry repair.
the house is off the grid.
no phones (especially no cell phones, so i have to drive into town to get my voicemail)
no people
no tv
no internet
im hoping this experience will help me straighten out my head, and with all the travelling i've been doing over the last 6 months it'll be nice to be in a place where i know every rock, tree and underwater log.

Sounds great! I'm about to head out on the road for the next 10 days for a little isolation myself. Cant wait to backroad it throughout the deserts of Nevada and get lost in the solitude. btw, cool shots in the photo group..
