went on a 300 mile quest for booking agents last night. getcher maps out kids, check this out... drove up the west side of big 'ol 32 mile lake george, drove across lake champlain on the creepiest bridge ever. (if youve seen the movie "what lies beneath" it's the same bridge they filmed the movie on) busted up the vermont side of the lakes to burlington to check out some venues and get #'s of booking agents. after having a few beers with an ex-guitarist of mine, my drummer and i headed north to cross the lake at the champlain islands. these islands are cool as hell. each one is connected to the other by a little bridge, and each one is it's own little villiage. we caught the ferry from grand island back to new york and smoked a joint on the ride, when we got to the other side we realised that all the cars behind us must have seen and smelled the giant cloud of smoke that billowed out when we reopened the sunroof. next stop, plattsburgh. we went to this house we had played at before, it has sort of a DIY venue attached to the back of it (high profile place for a house/venue, piebald played there a bunch of times as well as others) , we hadn't been able to contact the guy who books the shows, Jay Krak, so there we were, pulling into the parking lot at 1AM, looking for Krak....
nobody was awake, they must have wednesdays off now, so we left a note and went downtown to check out some venues. after some bad college town pizza and a few agent #'s we headed on the 3 hour trek home through the mountains, finally rolling into town at about 6 this morning. i am going to take a nap now.
