so I told my family not to get me anything for christmas. For once, they listened to me... sort of. I decided that I didn't like the guilt involved with gift-giving and recieving, and my family likes guilt; we're Catholic. all i wanted this year was to hang out with my grandfather and relax with a cup of coffee in the one room that my mother hasn't remodeled the home-feeling out of. (Incidentally, this is the room she wants to tear off the house completely... the playroom that used to be the garage.)

It was a good, but tiring day. By the time i got home, I was completely exhausted from doing the compulsory visitation rounds that i've been doing for as long as I can remember. My housemates called me Scrooge. fuck it. I am.

So I decided to buy a cheap digital camera. it's kind of a piece of shit, but I really don't care, I still have yet to be convinced of the stylistic validity of digital photography. I just got tired of being the one photographer I know who has NEVER owned a digital camera.

My friend Fleurry (that's what I call her anyway) came over the last few nights. She's more like a sibling than my real sister sometimes, it was cool to hand out with her. We don't see much of each other anymore because she lives in Brooklyn these days. We got drunk and played with Macintosh computing devices in the stairwell. It was grand.

I have no life, so i decided to give my bass a rewire and a facelift...

I still need to buff it to smooth out the finish and add one last layer of clear-coat, but besides that, it looks (and sounds) kickass.

i guess leaving might be greedy because i did so knowing the other person would be upset.
