So I woke up today to a voice-mail from a good friend of mine. The voice-mail said 'I need your help, I'm at the hospital, and I need you to come and get me.' So, of course, I'm thinking she's on the brink of death and I frantically call her back. She answers telling me, in a very sleepy/drunken voice 'I feel asleep or something at the wheel and I'm at the Resurrection Hospital, can you get me?' I agree and confirm that she was at the hospital on Talcott Ave, because there are two Resurrection Hospitals.
I get dressed, call by boss and tell him I'm going to be late and go to the hospital on Talcott. Little did I know that my friend has the amazing ability to dial and talk on the phone while completely incapacitated and was not at the hospital on Talcott, rather the one on Addison st, which is across town. This information was provided to me while attempting to find her at the Talcott location. Good times.
So I drive across town, finally park and find my friend. She's completely fine, didn't even get a DUI or anything but she can't remember where her car was. She got discharged shortly after I got there. I drove her to the area where the ambulance claimed to have picked her up from and miraculously found her car parked in a legal spot near a shopping center. Because she was still drunk I then drove her home and arranged for someone to pick her up later this afternoon to take her to her car.
Now I'm at work, there's jack shit going on and though I haven't really done anything today I still feel a weird sense of accomplishment. Eh- better not to question it and just ride the wave.
