i came home after a day of breakfast, and a do it your self car wash.
to a phone message from larry, my bed ridden neighbor downstairs. he needs my help. his pilot light is out on his heater.
it is amusing because the heater we have in our apartments is the same one i had in my room in college. my bedroom in college was a former garage turned into a bedroom. covered in wood with two levels. i was the envy of all that saw it. but i digress. but anyway, i should know how to light it. i didnt and it took me forever.
so i have to sit in larry's apartment until i figure it out
its 15 minutes before kickoff to the superbowl. not that i really care. i just want to light the pilot and get back upstairs.
well it turns out you have to wait 5 minutes with the pilot off before you can light it, so i sit on the couch. larry has many a stories. my mind spins trying to keep up. time passes, and i can light the pilot. its lit but the heat does not go on right away. i turn up the thermostat. it goes on
i can leave right?

larry asks for one more minute of my time. he has some women in mind for me. one he is not sure will like me because she is a persian jew, and that is all she dates.....but he goes into 10 stories about her family, the other is part of the MS foundation and is very succesful but she might be too young for me.
i tell larry "you know, thank you larry, but ive been single alot in my life, and ive been set up alot. i dont like it because i feel like im not just going out with that person, but the person that sets us up too. and its just too much pressure so thanks but.......no thanks" it didnt phase him. and i guess larry has my future wife planned out and i will meet her soon.
he called me three more times to come down and adjust his heat.
i have a new job i guess. so be it
