things are a bit odd right now

my grandpa had a stroke so we think. he has been having hallucinations, we thought it was his medication.

this is a man i respect more than anyone else on this earth. his wisdom, his outlook on life, his views on history. we are best friends.

it pains me to see him suffer. he is almost 90 and for as long as i have known him has been sharp as a tack.

the thing is....here is a man, he had 4 kids, his wife (my dads mom) passed away in her early 30's, when my dad was about 10. he raised these 4 kids on his own. never once thinking about being with another women.

even a single man raising 4 kids on his own, with many women knocking on his door in a small town, he stayed true.

and to this day, he has a portrait on his mantel of his wife. my grandmother that i never met. and still today, he loves her with all his heart. never once did he think of being with anyone else.

2 years ago, after a family reunion, we went to her grave. i was in tears instantly. all i heard my grandpa say was "i forgot she was only 34" we left, and i cried for the next two hours on the way home. until my grandpa turned back and yelled at me "ok thats enough"

is it any wonder he is my hero?
