So now that I'm no longer in a constant struggle within the confines of my mind I've come to the realization that I'm quite opinionated and express those opinions more than I ever thought possible. In recent days I've ranted much about culture, not because it irritates me anymore than any other particular issue I may rant about, but because it is everywhere and in everything.
Recently what has caught my ire are movies, which seem to be completely incoherant with anything these days. Take Resident Evil: Extinction, which I saw tonight. Now I'm not saying that I expected it to be the greatest movie ever, or even something I would deem worthy of the title of good (as such things are reserved for pieces of work that have some deep meaning or artistic value to them), but what I saw I don't even think should have been allowed without some major tweaks done to it.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I had a whole rant planned out, but I forgot how fast my medicine makes me sleepy so I'll just stick to the basic things of what annoyed me.
First and foremost was the acting. I mean, it seemed so... fake. All of it did, instead of being able to get really into the movie I was too focused on how everyone was either being way too dramatic, or not reacting to something at all. I thought one of the actors, I belive it was whoever played Carlos, did an especially bad job of achieving any sort of illusion that he was actually his character.
Second was the actual lines said. This may have been part of why everything seemed so fake. In fact, it's porbably a big reason why. The lines were laughable. I almost litterally started chuckling with the thought "Oh my god, he did NOT just really say that..." running through my head at least a dozen times.
Another thing, and this will be the last one because I'm losing my focus on this topic, is the actual setting. With this movie they COMPLETELY deviated from both the game and book plots, which successfully pissed me off. I mean, the games are glorious, and the books were amusing, and both followed the same general plot. Guess what? So did the movies!... until they destroyed the world. I mean seriously, what the fuck? I can understand all of humanity being destroyed, maybe, maybe maybe, but everything else? And the whole place becomming a desert in, what was it, five years? Come on.

Another thing I want to breifly rant about is the game Stranglehold. I'm not going to attack it too much, because it does provde some great amusement for times when thinking just doesn't seem like a good idea. Some things I do want to point out though are:
1. Dialogue. Can someone PLEASE come up with some good lines for these things?
2. Reloading would be nice... at least for realism.

Um, okay. I think that's it.
Well, maybe some personal things.
I'm lonely. frown
k, bed time now. :p
